Visual had only recently begun supporting Aesculap, a cutting-edge healthcare company, with its trade show program when COVID hit.

Without trade shows, how would Aesculap reach doctors, nurses and OR staff to introduce new technologies such as the Aesculap Aeos® Robotic Digital Microscope? How would hospitals learn about its comprehensive portfolio of medical devices and solutions for neuro and spine surgery that improve an OR’s efficiency?

The answer: The Aesculap Mobile Learning Lab.

Not long after shutdown in the spring of 2020, Aesculap approached Visual with an idea to take its message on the road to connect with its audience. Visual was fully on board from the start, quickly sourcing a truck through Spevco, a specialty vehicle manufacturer based in North Carolina, and presenting several viable options to Aesculap. Approximately a year later, voila! The Aesculap National Neuro Education Tour commenced!

Over the course of that year, many planning meetings took place, challenges were addressed and excitement was built. It was very much a collaborative effort between the Aesculap and Visual teams as well as Spevco, who provided a home and logistics for our experience.

Visual, along with the team from Aesculap, designed the 39-foot tractor trailer that will travel to 40+ cities on its six-month nationwide tour. Parameters such as sunlight, traffic flow, graphic placement and equipment stability were just a few of the design considerations. Visual continues to provide critical project management to the tour, acting as liason between Aesculap and Spevco and troubleshooting along the way.

Now, over two months into the tour, healthcare professionals across the country have been able to experience education right at their doorstep. They explore self-guided expert videos as well as hands-on demonstrations on actual products such as the Aesculap Aeos Robotic Digital Microscope and state-of-the-art anatomic models.

Response from tour visitors and Aesculap has been glowing.

According to Judy Marushak, Aesculap Manager, Corporate Communications and Events, “Our President said it exceeded his wildest expectations” and “In my 30 years of doing Communications, this goes down as one of the very best projects I’ve ever worked on.”

Visual is so excited to be a part of this unique, educational event and hopes the remainder of the tour continues to enlighten and #movehealthcareforward.
